EMPLOYER OF RECORDS DEFINITION

Career Options Africa Group is an astute Employer of Records (EOR) operating in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo and recently launched operations in Nigeria and South Africa

An employer of records (EOR) is the legal employer of a worker in a particular country, as such, EOR takes care of all compliance aspects of employment, including payroll, statutory benefits, taxes, employment contracts and many more.

How and where did EOR originate from?

EOR model is nothing new to the business world today, first originating in the United States in the 1960s in an attempt to address the challenges of employing people across the state lines.

In Us, people are tax residents of the state they live. Their employer is legally obliged to be registered for taxes in that very state and produce tax returns every year on their behalf.

When using EOR, a company enters into a trilateral co employment contract, signed by the company, the employer and the professional employer organization (PEO).

The company maintains a direct relationship with the employee allocating them work tasks and managing their performance.

As one charged with legal employment, the EOR takes care of the operational aspects such as payroll, taxes, benefits, etc.  while ensuring the employee and the client are compliant with all legal regulations when it comes to employment.

The third party to the agreement, the employee fulfills all of the obligations as the worker for the company. We take pride in our distinctive aptness to leverage on law, people and technology to offer effective and efficient services to all our clients.
