Manager- Sales Training

Our client a leading FMCG in East Africa is looking to hire a Manager- Sales Training.
The client seeks to fill the above position with a suitably qualified and competent person with extensive experience in managing and training Sales and Marketing teams in Kenya.


The ideal candidate will work in conjunction with the sales and marketing departments to recruit, hire and train highly effective salespeople. The position entails managing and working closely with sales staff to meet goals set forth by sales and marketing. Doing so will require developing, writing and publishing company-specific training materials to facilitate goals and assist salespeople. To demonstrate the success of these procedures, you will also be expected to collect and interpret data regarding training processes and salespeople’s performance.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities;
1. Collaborate with business teams and leadership in development and creation of sales training materials for onboarding and ongoing development.
2. Conduct skills gap analyses to identify areas of improvement.
3. Strategize new training methods to be implemented.
4. On-floor training support by planning and conducting training refresher sessions.
5. Develop training calendar based on the training need identification & deliver training programs as per the calendar.
6. Design training curricula.
7. Produce physical and digital educational material.
8. Plan, implement and manage sales educational workshops and field-based training.
9. Coordinate individual and team performance review sessions to discuss strengths and weaknesses.
10. Monitors and analyses sales team performance to evaluate the effectiveness of training and designs.
11. Liaise with external trainers or industry professionals to organize training programs and keep abreast of latest training methodologies.
12. Set up and monitor training budget.
13. Maintain up to date records of training material, curricula and budgets.

The job holder should have the following qualifications;
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Sales and Marketing or any relevant field.
2. Additional certification in training is a plus.
3. 5 years’ experience as a Sales Including 2 years as Trainer in the FMCG industry.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies;
1. Ability to manage the full training cycle, including in-person activities and web-based learning.
2. Hands-on experience with e-learning platforms.
3. Strong knowledge and understanding of the client’s products, customers, competitors and sales techniques.
4. Experience developing training materials.
5. Great communication skills and Interpersonal skills.
6. Managing and Developing Performance.
