Career Options Africa, is a HR Consultancy firm specialized in Recruitment, HR outsourcing and Immigration support within the East African Region with offices in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and now Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi.
In order to enhance our operations, COA seeks to fill the above position with a suitably qualified and competent Payroll Assistant to be based in Kenya and supporting our Group Payroll Accountant for in payroll operations across East Africa.
THE JOB
The ideal candidate has primary responsibility to provide support in payroll processing and record keeping ensuring that the payroll is processed in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance to payroll policies in place for Group payroll operations.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities;

  1. Assist the Payroll Account in boarding new employees by creating them into the payroll system
  2. Prepare monthly client payrolls.
  3. Prepare statutory filings with statutory bodies.
  4. Prepare monthly invoices for payroll funds.
  5. Reconcile client payments against bank statements.
  6. Process staff salaries using various online and offline platforms.
  7. Prepare statutory payment reports e.g., PAYE, NSSF and NHIF and reconcile.
  8. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reports and submit to the director.
  9. Reconcile signed working payroll sheets with monthly payroll summary.
  10. Maintain a proper filing system for all payroll documents.
  11. Prepare and send payslips to clients.
  12. Any other duty is given by the supervisor as and when required.
  13. QUALIFICATIONS
    The job holder should have the following qualifications;
  14. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field.
  15. Accounting Knowledge – CPA 2.
  16. 1 plus years’ experience in payroll administration.
    THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB
    The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies;
  17. Understanding of and hands-on experience in basic accounting principles and proficiency with computers and accounting software, such as MS Excel or Quick books.
  18. Proficiency with computers and bookkeeping software, strong typing skills.
  19. Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
  20. Exceptional time management, verbal and written communication skills.
  21. Professional manner and strong ethical code.
  22. Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.
  23. Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
  24. Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
  25. Organization skills trustworthy, efficient, and organized
  26. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
