Key Deliverables

  • Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data
  • Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
  • Preparing reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leave, compassionate leave and non-taxable wages 
  • Calculating payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income and social security tax, and calculating unemployment and worker’s compensation
  • Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
  • Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
  • Processing and issuing W19 forms to employees

Essential Qualities

Essential Qualities
  • Grade 12
  •  Payroll Administration Services: Certification
  • College or other courses in accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll administration

Experience 

  • Entry-level positions or internships in payroll or accounting departments
  • Experience using a payroll system or software
  • Three to four Years of related experience or training

Skills

  • Ability to create and manage spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in payroll software (sage 300)
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of wage calculations, deductions, and tax implications
