CONTEXTSODEICO Sarl, a company specializing in recruitment and provision of qualified personnel, is looking for a Chief Risk Officer for one of its clients. In accordance with Congolese regulations, the Risk Management Manager provides support and supervision to the activities of the business unit and facilitates the implementation and ongoing development of a solid risk management framework, including the identification, measurement, control and management of relevant business risks (Credit, Market, Operational, as well as Strategic and Reputational risks).

- Assists in formulating risk strategy and defines risk parameters that guide business strategy
- Develops an understanding of the business unit strategy, key success factors, risk profile and potential exposures
- Establishes and oversees risk management infrastructure and practices in accordance with regulatory expectations, Group policies and procedures and industry best practices
- Ensures effective communication, implementation and compliance with all Congolese banks risk management policies and guidelines, as applicable, within the business unit
- Assists in documenting and updating the risk strategy and associated risk management policies and procedures
- Uses available risk management methodologies, programs, metrics and tools in conjunction with other environmental changes to proactively monitor the control environment and identify and address potential weaknesses and/or gaps in a timely manner
- Assists in reassessing risk measurement systems and determining limits to verify their relevance in light of business developments, markets and macroeconomic environments
- Ensures overall oversight and accuracy of risk documentation
- Establishes and leads risk management committees
- Participates in relevant committees involving the business unit
- Actively participates in the new product acceptance process and/or performs due diligence as required
- Provide ongoing assessment of the Business Unit Risk Profile through regular reporting on the status of risk issues and major product or service initiatives impacting the overall risk profile of the business unit;
- Assist the business unit in implementing effective risk management best practices by developing and establishing continuous risk identification, measurement, management, control and communication;
- Develop effective risk reporting and other communication channels to ensure timely escalation of significant risk issues to senior business unit management and Group Risk Management;
- Assess the quality of the business unit's internal testing programs, track outstanding issues and recommend appropriate improvements;
- Monitor the status of outstanding Audit and Control issues to ensure their timely and appropriate resolution by the business unit;
- Serve as liaison with other risk management disciplines, internal departments, regulators and other external parties.
