As the Talent Acquisition Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in driving recruitment for our customer service, sales and operational teams across South Africa and the UK.
You'll need to deliver effective sourcing and assessment strategies whilst managing one other person to make sure we can bring in the right people quickly and efficiently to keep the business running smoothly.
Ways of Working:
We’re big fans of in-person collaboration and the connections that come from being together. That’s why all of our roles need you to be in the office regularly. But we do offer hybrid working where possible. In this situation, we ask for a minimum of 3 days a week in the office, and we all meet up every Thursday as a company. This could change depending on what the business needs at the time.

- Work with your manager to create effective strategies and provide pragmatic solutions to challenges to deliver quality talent at pace
- Work closely with your manager and Sales and Ops leaders to stay aligned to hiring needs, deliver pro-active updates and highlight challenges and solutions
- Keep an eye on our recruitment processes, always looking for ways to improve efficiency, reduce time-to-hire, and enhance the candidate experience
- Make sure assessment strategies we use are effective and provide us with the best way to assess what good likes like and hire right first time
Candidate sourcing and selection:
This is a hands on recruitment role and you need to be happy to deliver in a 360 recruitment role and manage recruitment processes from role briefing to candidate pre-boarding.
Ensure yourself and the team:
- Manage high volumes of applications efficiently, making sure all candidates receive a fair and positive experience, from the first contact all the way through to their onboarding, regardless of the outcome
- Work with multiple channels to directly and proactively source, attract and pipeline, top talent positioning AnyVan as an employer of choice
- Hustle and proactively source top talent for challenging and competitive roles and come up with creative solutions when talent pools are challenging
- Drive hiring quality and assess candidates suitability effectively against roles we're hiring for, acting quickly on strong candidates to secure top talent
- Manage and guide candidates and stakeholders through the offer management process to make sure we secure candidates
Tools, technology and numbers!
We have a number of tools we work with to drive efficiencies and improve user experience. I.e. Metaview (automated note taking in online interviews) and Ashby is our recruitment platform which has great automation and reporting functionalities.
- Make sure Ashby (our recruitment platform) is used correctly and we can rely on the integrity of the data we use for reporting
- Use data regularly to keep your team on track to deliver objectives and proactively take corrective action to improve based on the data when needed
- Provide reports and insights (like time-to-fill, candidate quality, etc.) and provide insights to help drive better decisions and refine strategies
Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and support a small recruitment team to meet hiring targets and KPI's and deliver quality candidates for operational, customer service, and sales positions
- Provide coaching and ongoing development for your team, helping them improve their skills and achieve their goals
Ad Hoc Projects:
- Support on any recruitment-related projects or initiatives that come up as needed
Set for success:
- We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of experience recruiting for sales, customer service, and operations roles in fast-paced commercial businesses. If you've got a knack for quality hiring (bonus points if you’ve got international or contact centre experience), we want to hear from you!
- As part of our small team, you’ll need a hands-on, can-do attitude. You’re someone who’s self-motivated and knows how to drive results
- Ideally, you’ve got some management experience or you’re a senior recruiter ready to step into a leadership role for the first time.
- You’ll need a proven track record of developing effective strategies and coming up with practical solutions to hire the right people, fast
- We’re big on data-driven decisions, so strong analytical skills are a must. You should be comfortable building reports and tracking key talent metrics to make sure we’re on the right track
- Familiarity with talent platforms and tools is important—you’ll be using them to automate processes, report on metrics, and engage with the business more effectively
- Even when things are moving fast, you’ll need to keep the focus on quality and attention to detail
- We’re looking for someone who can communicate effectively, build strong relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels
- You’ll need to be able to commute to our CBD office 5 days a week (this may drop to 3 days once you’re settled in)
