The job

Job Purpose:

The Sales Officer is responsible for building market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships, as well as directly engaging with clients to provide consistently superior customer service and drive sales growth. The Sales Officer will ensure business growth through participating in, directing, and managing sales activities to align with the organization's strategic objectives. The role will involve prospecting for new clients, building relationships, managing the sales process, and working cross-functionally to deliver solutions that meet client needs. The officer will also be responsible for enhancing existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities for products and services.

Key Deliverables

  1. Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs. 
  2. Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and social media. 
  3. Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns. 
  4. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services. 
  5. Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business. 
  6. Identify potential clients and the decision-makers within the client organization, research and build relationships with them. 
  7. Set up meetings between client decision-makers and the company's practice leaders/Principals. 
  8. Plan sales approaches and pitches, and work with the team to develop proposals that address the client's needs, concerns, and objectives. 
  9. Champion the pricing of the solution/service. 
  10. Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships. 
  11. Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs. 
  12. Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs. 
  13. Identify opportunities for campaigns and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales. 
  14. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators. 
  15. Create frequent reviews and reports with sales and financial data. 
  16. Ensure the availability of stock for sales and demonstrations. 
  17. Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences. 
  18. Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections. 
  19. Collaborate with team members to achieve better results. 
  20. Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams

  • Knowledge in sales and marketing. 
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in marketing or sales, is an added advantage.
