DRC:
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) assists refugees and displaced people worldwide. We provide emergency assistance, fight for their rights and help ensure that they have access to a better future. We are present in conflict zones, along displacement routes and in countries where refugees settle. We work in cooperation with local communities to identify responsible and sustainable solutions. ASSIGNMENT :
The Team Leader will be based 100% in the field and will support the implementation of the protection, social cohesion and economic recovery objectives and activities related to the SDC project which will be implemented in the Provinces of Makamba and Ruyigi according to the zone-based approach. The Team Leader will have to ensure the quality of programming and implementation of interventions, while ensuring strict compliance with DRC procedures. He/she will also have to ensure the development of tools and technical training of teams to ensure quality implementation. He/she will ensure coordination with other actors intervening in the DHCP sector at the national levels in the DRC intervention areas.
In line with DRC Burundi's localization strategy, the Team Leader will contribute to establishing equitable partnerships with local civil society organizations and to supporting DRC's local partners in the design and implementation of projects in the DHCP sector integrated with aspects of economic recovery and community stabilization.
He/she will ensure the proper management of this project in collaboration with the Area Manager and the HoP, with the support of the Economic Recovery Officers, the Peacebuilding Officers and the Peacebuilding Assistants. He/she will be in charge of the implementation of all activities carried out by DRC on the theme as well as local coordination with the other project partners, without forgetting the beneficiaries and local authorities.

Project management:
• Provide technical support for the implementation of projects taking into account sustainable solutions according to the zone-based approach, with aspects of social cohesion and peace consolidation;
• Coordinate the planning of project activities (development of work plans, recruitment plans, indicator monitoring plans) and ensure the monitoring of their implementation in the project intervention areas;
• Assign tasks to internal teams and assist in planning actions on a weekly basis;
• Ensure the management of equipment resources (development of purchasing plans and human resources management plans, etc.) and information, in close collaboration with the support department;
• Ensure that project implementation is carried out on time, in accordance with its objectives and budget, using effective MEAL systems to achieve the desired impacts;
• Support the team in the implementation of activities, and if necessary, provide training to staff;
• Ensure the quality of the implementation of activities, the consideration and participation of all stakeholders;
• Ensure that beneficiaries’ needs are met as projects evolve;
• Monitor project progress and manage any issues, including through monthly reports to be submitted internally to DRC;
• Develop and monitor the progress of the communication and visibility plan for projects;
• Act as a liaison between partners and beneficiaries to identify, define requirements and objectives;
• In close collaboration with MEAL and Communication Officers, ensure the collection of quality data and images essential for high-quality reporting;
• Coordinate the drafting of high-quality monthly reports and reports to be submitted to donors;
• Supervise and coach project staff;
• Analyze risks and opportunities;
• Work with the Protection Manager to mitigate risks or even eliminate obstacles;
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans and reports
• In collaboration with the MEAL Officer, store tools, attendance sheets and any other project documents;
• Ensure that protection and diversity elements are included in all project activities;
• Take the initiative and/or carry out any other task requested with a view to the quality of coordination and the quality of the implementation of projects, the management of offices and workspaces and even the capacity building of project partners;
Coordination and representation:
• Share and communicate on DRC projects with various partners and stakeholders
• Ensure the active participation of DRC in working groups and sectoral coordination, technical platforms and develop sectoral partnerships;
• Together with the project team, coordinate all aspects of project implementation with all relevant support departments;
• Represent DRC in various coordination meetings and even technical consultations;
• Maintain strict protocols regarding security, compliance with the Labor Code and prevention of fraud and sexual abuse;
• Actively participate in internal and external project and program monitoring meetings;

• Have a university degree (Minimum BAC + 3) in law, social sciences or political sciences, legal or economic sciences, project management or any other diploma relevant to the field. • Have at least 3 years of experience in a similar management/project team leader position; • At least 5 years of experience in project management; • Training in areas such as conflict prevention, armed violence reduction, social cohesion, community dialogues, governance, prevention of violent extremism, supporting the role of youth and/or women in peace and security issues would be an advantage; • Have proven skills in project management and development and in writing high-quality technical reports; • Have experience in quality assurance, capacity building and training; • Demonstrate a strong commitment to strengthening the capacity of field staff and partners; • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and under pressure; • Have experience of partnership with national partners, authorities/government and United Nations agencies;
In addition, we also expect the following: • A good understanding of humanitarian/civil society issues and the challenges of reintegrating returnees to Burundi. • Field experience in the field of community-based protection, social cohesion, economic recovery, prevention and response to cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), psychosocial support and care, etc. • Experience in coordinating with/of local actors; • Experience in project monitoring and evaluation, including data collection and analysis; • Perfect command of French and professional command of English (spoken, read, written); • Excellent computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint LANGUAGES : • French, oral and written (fluent) • English, oral and written (professional skills) • Kirundi, oral and written (fluent) • Swahili, oral (an advantage)
